Photography series I have been working on at the island of Örö in the Archipelago National Park in Finland. Örö has been used to graze animals by the locals for centuries, it was a military base under Russian rule, then a Finnish military base until the scaling back of their presence on the island left behind a lot of strange buildings and pristine nature. Now part of a national park with a guest harbour and a year-round artists residency.
I spend five weeks on the island initially in 2021 and have been back three times since to work on a series or photographs and video piece I started during my first visit.
